but the test is highly overgeneralizing... For example: One of the questions on the test is "Do you believe abortion is Right/Wrong?" and you can answer along a gradient... Well, after pondering the question for a long time prior to taking the test, I decided that because I am a male and will never be faced with that kind of decision, it's really not fair of me to attempt to qualify right and wrong.
I mean, most people would never think themselves qualified to discuss the ethics of commenting in code and the nature of software development. As such, I don't find myself qualified (For anatomical reasons, not educational, but the point remains the same...) to make ethics judgments about abortion.
Another question asked me about the legalization of Marijuana. The choices where a gradations of yes to no. I answered yes, definitely. But the reason I answered that doesn't come from morality. Drugs are bad. They're an overall drain on society, and serve no value to the community (the way most people use them.) Thus drug usage is wrong... But Marijuana should be legalized. The reason comes from the societal drain that drug law enforcement, and black market peddling brings. With thousands spent on misdemeanors offenses, a drug with similar effects to alcohol, and a VIOLENT black market, there's really no reason to continue to encourage people to deal the stuff in back alleys and lace it with stiffer drugs like cocaine. Legalization means subjugation by the FDA, sin taxes (Taxes on things like gas, beer, and cigarettes), and enough competition by big companies (The organized crime rings... lol...) to drive the back alley peddlers out of business. I'll be it, the companies are just as bad for the number of crimes committed, but they ruin lives with lawyers, not bullets. Some say that's a worse fate than death, but at least you're alive to consider it.
So take what you see with a grain of salt... Not that most things shouldn't, but that's a topic for a different time.
Ah... But who cares about morality when money's involved...
Mood: Still Eh...
